Strategic graphic recording for transformation projects where decisions need to outlast the meeting

I work with consultants, facilitators, and strategy leaders to turn complex strategic conversations into visual decision maps that teams actually use after the session ends.

Not documentation. Not decoration.
A thinking tool for when clarity matters more than speed.

Why strategic sessions fail to create lasting alignment

Here’s what typically happens after your transformation workshop, strategy offsite, or critical decision meeting:

The meeting ends with energy and apparent consensus.
48 hours later, three different people tell three different versions of “what we agreed.”

The presentation deck gets filed away.
Six weeks in, someone asks: “What did we decide about X?” Nobody’s quite sure.

Execution stalls because the trade-offs weren’t actually resolved.
The team keeps revisiting the same conversations because nothing was truly settled.

The facilitator moves on. The consultant hands off. The decisions dissolve.

You invested days in planning, thousands in facilitation, and executive time that can’t be reclaimed.

And yet—the clarity died in the meeting room.

This isn’t a documentation problem.
It’s a decision capture problem.

When strategic conversations involve:
– Multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
– Complex trade-offs with no obvious “right answer”
– Transformation programmes where alignment determines success
– High-consequence decisions that will shape the next 12-24 months

You need more than notes.

You need a shared visual artefact that shows:
✓ What was actually decided (not just discussed)
✓ What trade-offs were accepted
✓ What assumptions are baked in
✓ What dependencies exist

That’s what strategic graphic recording creates.

What strategic graphic recording actually delivers

I join your critical strategic sessions—in person or remote—and create a visual map of the decisions, tensions, and relationships that emerge in real time. Not a summary of the conversation. Not a beautified transcript. A one-page decision architecture that shows:

The core strategic choice being made What you're actually deciding—not what you thought you were deciding

The visible trade-offs What you're saying no to, what you're betting on, what's being deferred

The dependencies and assumptions What has to be true for this to work; what could break it

The stakeholder positions Where alignment exists, where tension lives, what needs resolving

The next critical path What decisions unlock next, what needs to happen first

What This Is NOT

This is not: – Sketchnotes of everything said – Real-time scribing of a conference keynote – Graphic facilitation (I don’t run the session—I support the facilitator) – A tool for every meeting (only for moments where strategic clarity is expensive) This is for: – Transformation programmes where misalignment costs months – Strategy sprints with multiple stakeholders – Decision-heavy workshops where “consensus” often means ambiguity – Leadership offsites where clarity needs to survive the next quarter

The strategic graphic recording process

What strategic graphic recording actually delivers

I join your critical strategic sessions—in person or remote—and create a visual map of the decisions, tensions, and relationships that emerge in real time.

Not a summary of the conversation.
Not a beautified transcript.
A one-page decision architecture that shows:

How we work together?

1. I join the session

In-person or remote. Europe, UK or global.

2. I capture decisions live

As the discussion unfolds, I visualise:

  • priorities

  • trade-offs

  • assumptions

  • decisions

3. You leave with one shared artefact

A one-page visual decision map that:

  • aligns stakeholders

  • supports execution

  • prevents re-discussion

Who I work with?

I typically work with:

  • Boutique strategy & advisory firms

  • Consultants & facilitators leading client sessions

  • Strategy leaders (COOs, Heads of Strategy, Chiefs of Staff)

If you lead decision-heavy sessions and want outcomes that last beyond the meeting — this work is designed for you.

Why this isn’t AI?

AI can summarise conversations.
It cannot sense tension, ambiguity, or what’s not being said.

Strategic graphic recording:

  • makes thinking visible in real time

  • surfaces misalignment early

  • supports human decision-making

That’s why teams reuse the maps – and AI notes get forgotten.

What clients walk away with?

✔ Clear, shared decisions
✔ Faster alignment
✔ One-page visual artefacts teams actually reuse
✔ Momentum after the meeting — not confusion

FAQ - Visual Thinking Services

What is strategic graphic recording?

Strategic graphic recording is the live visualisation of key discussions and decisions during strategy and transformation sessions. It helps teams align and act on what was agreed.

Is this the same as graphic facilitation?

No. I don’t facilitate the session - I work alongside facilitators and consultants to support clarity and decision-making visually.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. I work both remotely and in person, depending on the project.

Is this only for large organisations?

No. I work mainly with boutique consulting firms and strategy leaders working with organisations of different sizes.
